Every day, more than 150 refugee children walk through the doors of Tibyan Integrated Islamic School—also known as the Somali Community School in Kuala Lumpur. For them, our school is far more than a classroom.
It is a sanctuary.
A place of healing.
A home for faith, dignity, and possibility.
And it is the only chance they have at a stable education.
But today, this sanctuary is at risk.
Why We Need You
Refugee families in Malaysia have no access to public education and face severe financial hardship. Tibyan Integrated Islamic School was created to fill this gap—and for 13 years, Alhamdulillah, we have done exactly that.
But the reality is stark:
Without consistent funding, we cannot pay our teachers or maintain the school rental.
If these two pillars collapse, so does the entire future of 150+ vulnerable children.
Introducing: The Educator & Sanctuary Support Program
We are urgently raising $23,556 to sustain our school for 12 months by covering:
Teacher Salaries — The Heart of Our School
Our 11 qualified teachers not only teach English, Mathematics, Science, Arabic, ICT, and Islamic Studies—they provide trauma-sensitive support, mentorship, and stability to children who have lost everything.
Without steady income, we risk losing them.
School Rental — The Sanctuary Itself
We operate from two rented units. If rent cannot be paid, we lose our classrooms instantly—leaving 150 children without safety, structure, or hope.
