We, Student Voices for Humanity, are a coalition of students from all over the world who are committed to making this world a better place for every human being. Our non-profit organization aims to go beyond providing financial aid: we live with the knowledge that we could have been born into the same situation or may one day be forced into the same circumstances as those we are committed to supporting. Because of this, our broader goal is to shed light on the shared humanity of all people, no matter their situation, language, culture, or beliefs - especially those who have been ostracized and alienated by Western media. We charge no administration fees, meaning every dollar donated goes directly to aid our fellow human beings who need it most - whether they are orphans with no family to rely on, refugees forced to flee their war-torn countries, widows unable to obtain a source of income, or even the homeless and destitute members of our own communities.
This year, we are working directly with the organization "Hidden Humanity" in Jordan. Our team will personally deliver all funds to widows, orphans, and Palestinian refugees in Jordan, sharing photos of those who are receiving aid to show how your donations are helping. Although our focus this year is on aiding Gazans fleeing devastating conditions, we plan on delivering aid to those in need from various backgrounds for many years to come.
As students, we understand that every person plays a role in the global community. In our search for different educational and career paths, we believe that our life goals should take into account the needs of the global community, rather than our personal interests solely. We hope to inspire other students who are choosing the trajectories of their lives to play their parts in helping the global community prosper. It is our belief that monumental changes require the most minuscule actions. As Confucius once stated, "The man who moves a mountain begins by carrying away small stones."
