Opportunity for Orphans
Five young boys have lost their families and have become orphans in Kabul, Afghanistan. On our previous trip to Afghanistan our team was introduced to these bright young men. All of them were doing their apprenticeship at a carpentry shop. After leaving our volunteer told me they were all orphans.
Five young boys have lost their families and have become orphans in Kabul, Afghanistan. On our previous trip to Afghanistan our team was introduced to these bright young men. All of them were doing their apprenticeship at a carpentry shop. After leaving our volunteer told me they were all orphans.
They are extremely talented and make everything by hand. No fancy equipment or tools. The only machine I saw in the shop was a wood planer to smooth the wood down. (Pic below is an example of what they can do)
Hidden Humanity would like to raise $3,000 in order for these orphans to further pursue their professional carpentry training. The funds will be utilized to procure essential materials such as wood and other materials, enabling them to create various products. These items will then be sold, and the generated income will be reinvested in purchasing more wood, providing a sustainable source of income for the orphans.
This initiative aims to empower them to become self-sufficient and establish a strong foundation for their future endeavors. We ask the community to help bring these boys' dreams to a reality.
