Mother in Debt Forced To Sell Her 3-year Old
After owing eight months of rent to her landlord and struggling with feeding her children, Zarmina resorted to a desperate and last resort of survival- selling her daughter to a childless couple, so that she could purchase food and secure a place to sleep for the rest of her children.
After owing eight months of rent to her landlord and struggling with feeding her children, Zarmina resorted to a desperate and last resort of survival- selling her daughter to a childless couple, so that she could purchase food and secure a place to sleep for the rest of her children.
Your funds will go towards:
- Relocating and Reuniting the Daughter With her Family
- Helping Pay the Debt to the Landlord
- Purchasing Food for a Month
Zarmina was thrown into poverty after her husband was killed in a bombing attack in Afghanistan three years ago. She resorted to a domestic job of washing clothes for her neighbours, spending many hours only to earn enough to buy food. Between paying her rent and buying food, Zarmina struggled to provide for her children.

Due to the nature of the work and the weather, Zarmina started suffering from the physical labour with excruciating pain in her arms and hands. Unable to continue washing clothes, Zarmina was suddenly faced with complete devastation and found herself in a state of utter desperation to find a way to feed her children and not lose her home. When a couple approached Zarmina to purchase her 3-year-old baby daughter, in exchange for just over $100, Zarmina saw it as a means to save the remainder of her family.
Heartbroken and helpless, Zarmina was forced to part from her baby daughter to pay her rent. We found Zarmina outside a bakery, destitute and broken, pleading for some bread to feed her other children. With just USD $500, you can help Zarmina reunite with her daughter, pay off her outstanding debt and feed this family for two months. Let us help remove the distress and sheer desperation of this woman, for the Prophet peace be upon him has said "Whoever removes the distress of a believer in this world, Allah will remove his distress on the Day of Judgement" (Muslim).

Where this campaign stands today
Raised, deployed, and items delivered are sourced from the same ledger_entries table our finance team reconciles against. The numbers below match the admin transparency view exactly.
Updated live from the public ledger.
A monthly commitment is the most efficient gift you can give us.
Recurring donors stay with us 5× longer than one-time givers, which means we can plan distributions, lock vendor pricing, and stand by communities through the quiet seasons — not just the headline crises.
