Help us support 10 families towards independence and self sufficiency by purchasing 10 rickshaws that they can use to earn a living.
UPDATE:
To date we have provided 4 Rickshaws and 1 taxi. Its been over a year and half since the launch of our program. We have followed up with the individuals and are happy to report that the program has had a positive impact in the lives of the beneficiaries. They are no longer dependent on NGOs or others for help. We have not seen any of them on our list for distribution of Aid.
Afghanistan has been in a state of significant political and economic crisis since 2021. The consequence on the existing population has been crippling if not devastating. The economic contraction has been as high as 35 percent of the original economy, which has led to widespread food insecurity and deprivation.
Poverty has been on the rise and many able bodied men were left without job opportunities or a means to provide for their typically large families.
Hidden Humanity has been on the ground and able to witness first hand the dire situation and desperation of countless families. As a first phase, we wish to provide job opportunities that can enable families to become independent and self-sufficient again.
The Ten Rickshaw Project involves the purchasing of ten rickshaws that will be leased to ten needy individuals vetted by our Hidden Humanity representatives. After a period of 1-2 years, the ownership of the rickshaws will then be transferred to the individual, making them fully responsible and independent.
This project aims to give ten locals the opportunity to develop their management skills. It will not only benefit the wider community but will grant these families the tools to create and manage their own income. The estimated cost of this project is $30,000. It will be able to give ten families or potentially 100 people, comprising mostly women and children a sense of hope and future again.
