Takiyya of Sayyida Khadija — In the Levant (Phase Two)

Alhamdulillah, our first appeal for the Takiyya of Sayyida Khadija closed above its goal, raising $204,139 against a $200,000 target. Every one of those gifts became hot meals, clean water and support for the people who rely on this kitchen.

But a takiyya isn’t a one-time project. It’s a promise to show up every day. The widows who come for their family’s meal, the orphans fed between school and home, the hospital patients with no one to bring them food: they’ll be back tomorrow, and the day after that.

Phase Two keeps our kitchen cooking and serving for another year.

What Is the Takiyya?

The Takiyya of Sayyida Khadija is our own community kitchen, established by Abu Munir alongside Hidden Humanity to feed widows, orphans and the most vulnerable members of the community. Every meal is cooked and distributed from the Takiyya itself, reviving the centuries-old Islamic tradition of the takiyya: a public kitchen that serves free meals to anyone in need.
