SVH: FulFill Your Fidya. Feed a Soul In Need.
The majority of scholars define Fidya as providing:
-
One average meal to a needy person for each missed fast
or
-
The equivalent value of staple food (approximately one “mudd” to half a “sa’” depending on scholarly opinion — roughly 1.5–2 kg of staple food). $5 per meal is whats recommended but if you give a bit extra its not a problem.
-
The amount paid is based on the country you live in and what 1.5 -2 kgs of staple food cost.
In practical terms, this means:
-
If 30 fasts are missed, 30 people must be fed
-
Fidya may be paid daily or as a lump sum for the month
-
It must be given to those who qualify as poor or needy (fuqara’ and masakeen)
It is not given to family members one is already financially responsible for.
There are believers who long to fast in Ramadan — but cannot.
The elderly grandmother whose body no longer carries her through long days without nourishment.
The chronically ill father whose medication requires food.
The fragile patient recovering from surgery.
They carry the love of Ramadan in their hearts, but their bodies cannot bear its hunger.
This is where Fidya becomes mercy.
Allah, in His infinite compassion, gave us Fidya so that when a fast cannot be kept, another soul is fed instead. What we cannot give through our own hunger, we give through nourishment to someone else.
And today — the need is overwhelming.
Across the forgotten communities around the world, vulnerable families are facing food insecurity at levels we have not seen in decades. Mothers are skipping meals so their children can eat. Elderly men sit quietly so their hunger does not burden others. Orphans wait for food that may not come.
Your Fidya can change that.
When you entrust your Fidya to Hidden Humanity, it does not sit in an account. It becomes:
-
A hot, dignified meal placed into trembling hands
-
Rice, meat, and vegetables cooked fresh for families who have nothing
-
Food parcels delivered to widows, orphans, and the chronically ill
-
Immediate relief in places where hunger is daily reality
We work directly with trusted local teams to identify those most in need — the “hidden” families who suffer quietly and do not ask.
Every Fidya payment becomes nourishment.
Every missed fast becomes a full plate for someone else.
This is not charity alone — it is fulfillment of an obligation with impact.
Imagine standing before Allah knowing that every fast you could not keep became a meal for someone who otherwise would have slept hungry.
Let your inability become someone else’s sustenance.
Let your Fidya become hope.
Let your worship continue — through feeding the world’s most vulnerable.
