Build the First Masjid Ever in Areesha Villas
Jama Masjid Shameem – Mosque & Madrasa Project, Karachi, Pakistan
"Whoever builds a mosque for the sake of Allah, Allah will build for him a house in Paradise." — Sahih al-Bukhari & Sahih Muslim
A community with no place to pray
In Areesha Villas, Scheme 33, Karachi, families wake to the call of Fajr — but there is no masjid to answer it in. There is not a single mosque anywhere in the society. Every one of the five daily prayers is prayed at home. There is no local place to gather for Jumu'ah, no congregation to stand shoulder to shoulder with, and no place for children to learn the Qur'an.
Jama Masjid Shameem will change that. It will be the only mosque serving the entire Areesha Villas community — a home for daily prayers, Jumu'ah, Ramadan nights, and every occasion that brings a Muslim community together.
The work has already begun
This is not a plan on paper. The foundation of the masjid has already been laid, and construction is underway. The community has also secured a plot for a madrasa and has already paid $21,660 towards it.
What's needed now is the help to finish what has been started.
The project
-The masjid: Built on a 650 square yard plot, with a ground floor and first floor (G+1), giving room for the congregation to grow. -The madrasa: A separate 1,250 square yard plot has been acquired for a madrasa that will provide Qur'an and Islamic education for the children of the community and generations to come. The madrasa will be built once the masjid is complete.
Together, the masjid and madrasa will become a lasting centre of worship, Qur'an learning and Islamic knowledge for Areesha Villas.
Where your donation goes
Our first priority is completing the masjid so the community can pray in congregation as soon as possible. Donations will also go towards clearing the outstanding land payment so the madrasa plot is secured in full.
Sponsor a square yard of the madrasa
Every square yard of the madrasa land costs about $58. There are 875 square yards still to be paid for. Sponsor one — or ten — and own a share in the ground where children will learn the Qur'an for generations.
A Sadaqah Jariyah that never stops
Every prayer prayed in this masjid, every verse of the Qur'an learned in its madrasa, every child who grows up with a place to belong — all of it continues to carry reward for those who helped build it, long after the building work is done.
This is not simply a building. It is a centre of worship and learning that will serve the people of Areesha Villas for generations, Insha'Allah.
