70,000 tents flooded in 12 hours. Help 100 families in Gaza sleep warm and dry this winter.
Before the Next Storm: Winter Aid for Gaza
Goal: $20,600 to reach 100 families
$206 gives one family in Middle Gaza a Winter Aid Package: two heavy 4 kg blankets, one waterproof tarp and two mattresses.
This appeal is Zakat eligible.
The Night the Water Came
The rain came at night, and it did not stop.
Within 12 hours, 70,000 tents across Gaza were flooded. Families who had already lost their homes woke to cold water rising through the floor of the only shelter they had left.
Blankets soaked through. Mattresses turned heavy with mud. A child's spare clothes, a mother's few saved belongings, the bread meant for tomorrow. All of it lay in dirty, freezing water.
Picture a mother pulling her youngest child onto her lap because the ground beneath them is wet. There is nowhere dry to lay him down. So she holds him through the night, not only to comfort him, but to keep him off the cold floor.
Picture a father standing in the dark, pressing his hands against a torn tent roof, trying to hold back the rain with nothing but his arms.
This is winter in Gaza.
- Nearly 2 million people need shelter support.
- Only 17% of winter shelter needs are covered.
- 279,000 people are living in flood-prone sites, where the next storm will find them again.
For a newborn, an elderly grandmother, or a child already weakened by hunger, a cold, wet night is not just hardship. It is danger.
These families are not asking for much. A dry place to sleep. A blanket heavy enough to hold back the cold. A cover over their heads that keeps the rain out.
We can give them that. Together, we can give them that before the next storm.
One Winter Aid Package: $206
Each package gives one family in Middle Gaza what it needs to get through the cold, wet months:
- 2 heavy winter blankets, 4 kg each ($88): real warmth on the coldest nights, enough to wrap children and parents.
- 1 waterproof tent tarpaulin, 6×4 m ($50): a roof that keeps the rain out and the floor dry.
- 2 mattresses ($68): lifting the family off the cold, wet ground.
Total: $206 per family.
Goal: 100 families × $206 = $20,600.

Be Their Warmth Tonight
Tonight, while we pull our blankets close, a family in Gaza will lie awake listening to the rain on a torn tent roof.
You can change what tomorrow night looks like for them.
For $206, a family will have a roof that holds, mattresses that keep them off the wet ground, and blankets heavy enough to keep their children warm until morning. It is a small thing to us. To them, it is the difference between a night of fear and a night of rest.
The Prophet ﷺ said: "The believers, in their love, mercy and compassion for one another, are like one body. When one part of it suffers, the whole body responds with sleeplessness and fever." (Bukhari and Muslim)
Gaza is part of that body. Their sleepless nights are ours.
Sponsor a Winter Aid Package today. This appeal is Zakat eligible. Give for one family, or give for ten. Every package is one more family that stays warm and dry before the next storm arrives.
