Student Voices for Humanity
We, Student Voices for Humanity, affirm that childhood education is a right, not a privilege. But as the war in Gaza continues, thousands of Palestinian children have been denied this fundamental right. Over the past seven months, 275 schools have been demolished or partially destroyed, 313 schools are utilized as refuge centers, 6 universities have been totally damaged or destroyed, 94 professors have been killed, 1269 teachers have been killed or injured, and 6,237 students have been brutally murdered while 10,300 students have been injured. As students, we recognize just how crucial a solid education is to our lives, and we aim to use our voices to restore the rights of Gazan students who are refused the same essential liberties we access freely.
This is why our current mission is to help a group of qualified educators in conducting an educational rehabilitation and intensive lessons program in Jabalia, a city in Northern Gaza. The objective of the program is to provide an education for around 500 young Palestinian children in the area who have lost a year’s worth of schooling during the ongoing genocide. In order to do so, we seek help in collecting the funds needed to pay the project coordinator, eight qualified teachers, one psychological specialist, and one cleaner and hospitality assistant. We also urge donations so that we may purchase chairs, tables, stationary, and meals for the children, as well as fix windows and doors damaged during the war.
We are asking for your help in rescuing an educational system that is facing irreversible collapse. Our hope is that the implementation of this program may lead to the foundation of many similar programs throughout Gaza. As the children and students of Gaza face unimaginable tragedy and loss, we hope to ensure that their education is not one of them.
