Father & Son: Serving the Poor and Needy

A Journey of Service, Compassion, and Learning in Damascus

Hidden Humanity is organizing a meaningful father-and-son humanitarian trip to Damascus, Syria. The purpose of this journey is to inspire the next generation to develop compassion, gratitude, and a lifelong commitment to serving people in need.

Fathers and sons will have the opportunity to participate in and learn about the charitable work carried out by Sidi Abu Munir and Hidden Humanity in Damascus.

Serving Together

During the trip, participants will take part in projects supporting some of the most vulnerable members of the community, including:

  • Orphans and children from vulnerable families
  • Widows and their households
  • Hospital patients and their caregivers
  • Families experiencing poverty and food insecurity

The group will assist with preparing, packing, and distributing meals, as well as providing clean drinking water to those in need.

This is not intended to be an ordinary visit. It is an opportunity for fathers and sons to work side by side, meet the people being served, and understand the realities faced by vulnerable families.

Learning Through Real-Life Stories

Participants will also spend time with Sidi Abu Munir, listening to his life experiences and learning from his years of service to orphans, widows, patients, and impoverished communities in Damascus.

These conversations will help the young participants understand the importance of humility, responsibility, generosity, and serving others with dignity.

The Purpose of the Journey

The Father & Son trip aims to:

  • Strengthen the bond between fathers and sons through shared service
  • Encourage young people to become compassionate and socially responsible
  • Provide direct exposure to humanitarian work
  • Teach gratitude through meaningful interaction with vulnerable communities
  • Inspire participants to continue serving others after returning home
  • Support Hidden Humanity’s ongoing food and water programs in Damascus

More Than a Humanitarian Trip

For the sons participating, this journey will offer lessons that cannot be fully learned in a classroom. They will see how a simple meal, a bottle of clean water, or a moment of kindness can bring comfort and hope to another person.

For fathers, it is an opportunity to lead by example and share an experience with their sons that may shape their values for years to come.

Together, fathers and sons will serve, listen, learn, and return home with a deeper understanding of their responsibility toward those in need.
